When are the IACP training courses offered?
Training courses are offered annually from about Mid-October to about Mid-December.

What types of training courses are offered?
A wide variety of classes are offered ranging from documenting an internal control system to completing the annual certification process as well as courses pertaining to specific transaction cycles.(Applicants with professional certification can receive CPE or Continuing Professional Education credits for attending the IACP training courses.)

Is there a fee for the IACP training courses and is there a charge assessed for canceling a course?
No. There aren't any fees associated with the IACP training courses or cancellations; however, we do require advance notification for any cancellations.

Guidelines:

Where can I obtain a copy of the IACP Guidelines?
Copies of the IACP Guidelines can be obtained from your agency's Internal Control Coordinator (ICC) or a PDF version is available at the following web address: www.obm.ohio.gov/iacp/.

How often are the IACP Guidelines updated?
The guidelines are updated on an annual basis.

If my IPSR form cannot be submitted by the designated deadline, what should I do?
The agency's ICC should contact OBM and inform a State IACP Coordinator of the delay. Identify the date the IPSR will be submitted.

What happens to the Improvement Plans (IP) if the weakness cannot be corrected?
The reviewer should note why the weakness couldn't be corrected when he/she completes the IPSR form. That status will be logged as such when the IPSRs are forwarded to OBM. Agency personnel should maintain the information pertaining to the weakness on file because there may be instances where the IP can be corrected at a future date.

The agency's certification should be received to OBM no later than September 15th.

What should our agency do if we need to request an extension?
A written letter requesting an extension needs to be completed by the Director of your agency and sent to the Director of OBM. The letter will include the revised submission date of the agency certification.
